When observing the ocean I love to see how light works its way through the many different layers. It can mirror the clouds or show you the bottom and the abundance of life inside it. It truly is a world all its own. And there are always the waves.
Have you ever noticed a surfer when he is near the ocean? He’s obsessed with it. It’s hard to keep his attention because he never fully takes his eyes off the water, especially when the surf is good. That’s because the ocean is always changing. He is highly attuned to it. He notices the way waves move in sets, their size and characteristics. No two days, or even moments, are the same. The way it surges, pushes, pulls and heaves; there is a rhythm to it. Just like music or a heartbeat. All energy moves in waves. It is why we do what we do — all of us.
My intent is to share with you the majesty of God’s handiwork through paintings and to tell a story. The story is of Light, Vision, Ocean, the Tropics, and of course, Surfing!
Please visit the Gallery page to see my work and read the stories for additional insight.
Humbly I thank you,
